Worship Services Description

Traditional Worship Service : Sunday at (see above)

This worship service is located in the main sanctuary.   At this service we use hymn books (United Methodist Hymn & The Faith We Sing), have an excellent choir, and a bulletin with the order of worship laid out so that you can easily follow.  The UMC at Mt. Tabor provides wonderful sacred music as well as contemporary songs and this traditional continues with the present music leadership. The Communion is usually served on the first Sunday of each month.

Sunday School and Childcare

Sunday School is offered between 9:30 to 10:25 a.m.  Child Care is provided each Sunday morning during the 10:30 worship service.

Taizé Service: Every Fourth Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

This worship service takes place in our sanctuary, and is a quiet meditative service with Taizé music, Scripture reading, prayer, and beautiful candlelight.

The Taizé (pronounced teh-Zay) community in France originated in the 1940’s and is interdenominational in origin. It reconciles the human imposed denominational delineations of the Christian faith. Being interdenominational in origin, it often uses Latin text which all countries share as a common language.  Music in worship is an important common element in which we can participate. Using short repeated chants that are easy to learn and sing, can create a contemplative, reflective and meditative atmosphere. As repetitive singing continues, it can affect the whole being of a person. Meditative singing is a way of listening to God and is a communal way of prayer and meditation.
